Ice melting at the polar ice caps, global temperatures rising, and ocean currents changing...are these all part of Global Warming? Join us for the December Voices of the Lake Speaker Series as Meteorologist George Kessler explains the ins and outs of Global Warming. What effects could it have on our region? Should we prepare for colder and longer winters and hotter summers? Mr. Kessler will separate the facts from the fiction and give us a better picture of what is happening with our planet.

For more information on the Voices of the Lake Speaker Series please contact Sara Kubarek at [email protected] or 218-740-2013.

I was getting too frustrated trying to figure out how to format it smaller, so I took the easier route. Sorry for the multiple posts!!

Too bad George is a Meteorologist and not a Climatologist. He's good at forecasting the weather but I doubt he'd be good at climate forecasting.

You probably think Karl Spring knows what he's talking about.

Besides being a total dickass, Karl Spring wears penny loafers with white socks, and rides a Kawasaki while doing so.
So no, I don't think he knows what he is talking about.
The forecast from my previous post: "sarcasm" dappled with a little "totally fucking sick of lame ass local broadcasters"....

I'm just tired of people mixing up weather forecasting and climate changes. Doesn't matter who the "weather" forecaster is.

Kessler's talk may be interesting because he's (hopefully) going to talk about the impact of climate change on our region. But if he starts getting into predicting climate change, forget it. Same goes for Karl Spring.

George isn't claiming that he's a climatologist, but as a meteorologist he is able to look at weather patterns and weather history. He's just going to discuss some of the patterns that have been happening, give some scenarios of what these changes could bring to our area, and basically talk about his point of view on Global Warming. It should be an interesting talk! Last year he discussed the weather for our region and at the end started to talk about Global Warming.

Didn't Karl Spring call Al Gore (re: Climate Change) a "Left Wing Nut Job"?

Oh how time change. Perhaps it all that wind against his gym socks while riding his Kawasaki.

George argued that climate change is NOT caused by man, despite atmospheric CO2 levels being higher now than they've ever been measured.
