Science Report

A couple weeks ago I asked you, on behalf of my daughter, to play Tetris and the play Tetris while talking on your phone to see how you did. You wanted to see the results. The results are in!

Comments

My roommate plays Tetris on the toilet; I wonder how that affects his game?

Just read the results.

Okay, not meaning to be sexist here, but have you had conversations with some ( I said SOME, not all.) men on the phone? It is a series of "yeah, ah-huh, yup, oh yeah". My stepfather could have an entire conversation with my mom and watch football, not remembering later that mom had just asked him if she could buy a new Lexus. (She had his number.)
"Yeah, ah-huh, sure honey. Whatever you want." So maybe women are still better multi-taskers. We can remember the conversation, participate in it, and we can play Tetris. That whole bring home the bacon thing. Now if I could just find my pan.

Also, maybe who you are talking to on the phone effects your game. I was talking to my mom-in-law. That had to effect my game.

Anyway, it was fun seeing the results. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of it. Anything for science.

Did you know that that whole "bring home the bacon thing" was from the middle ages when a couple would be given a side of bacon by the church if they made it through their first year of marriage without getting into a fight? and I don't mean a tiff here, I mean physical violence.

I suppose that's a kind of positive reinforcement.

I do like bacon.

"You just WAIT until after we get our bacon, mister! You are REALLY going to get it!"

For a wedding present, friends of my husband gave us a piece of crap shaped into a frog. (for ones garden.) They sent it in the mail. I opened it, called my husband, and Said,"Your friends sent us a crappy wedding gift." My husband quickly rebuked me. I said, "No! It is crap shaped into a frog!!!" So now when something sounds pretty unbelievable, we say, "Bet you could shape that one into a frog!"

I'd take the bacon over poop any day!

Zoe has a point. Being a father who has kids with science projects, I would have loved to contributed. But I just couldn't get past the talking on the phone thing. Why would I need to talk on the phone other than calling up someone to get pertinent information that would take all of 45 seconds? You mean I'm actually supposed to just dial the phone and "chat" for more than 5 minutes? Couldn't do it, not even in the name of science.
