You should hear how she talks about you
This entry simultaneously cracks me up and makes me cringe. It totally conjures up images of driving around town with my mom while she was doing errands, listening to Melissa Manchester on 610 AM KDAL, in our 1974 AMC Hornet station wagon with wood paneling on the sides.

When I really want to motivate my children I threaten to play the Air Supply Christmas Album. I have no idea why I have this artifact, but it is an effective threat.

Man-oh-man. We had 2 Hornets growing up and one of them was invariably breaking down. The first one was a white sedan and then we upgraded to a red hatchback that was a couple of years newer. I remember thinking that the red hatchback was SO cool. Boy those were crazy times.

i think my dad was the king of MOR...he had the Carpenters, Manchester, he had Reddy, he had Lightfoot, Roger Whittaker...and more...all on vinyl. Hundreds of them, and would go through periods where all he'd do on any given Saturday was play those albums.
He was also quite fond of his The Good, The Bad and The Ugly soundtrack...And Herb Alpert. mmm, whipped cream.
I liked some of it, and he did have some really great albums in his collection, like Ferrante and Teicher...alas, it was a total loss due to water damage and mold from being in storage, or I'd have my hands on it now.

Photo now updated with the actual car. A lot of that music is terrific - Kim Carnes, Stevie Nicks, etc.
