shannon lost her job
shannon is my wife.
she was a sales rep for one of the less-distasteful major pharmaceutical companies.
she sold pills for erectile dysfunction and osteoporosis.
she is a superior worker who fell victim to a "sales force restructuring" process based neither in job performance nor seniority.
and as of 9:30 this morning she's got a lot of free time.
she loves walking dogs and spending time with lonely ones.
she'd love to work at a coffee shop, like she did in grad school in buffalo, ny.
she can knit mittens and hats.
she likes working in gardens--pulling out summer plants and turning over soil and stuff like that.
despite no desire to be a mom, she's a wizard with toddlers and other little kids.
lately she's wanted to volunteer, but is undecided about where.
too bad she's not really a drinker, because she now has the freedom to spend a lot of time engaged in that and other idle pursuits.
