Let's watch those returns come in...

If anyone wants to watch the returns with a bunch of Democrat political junkies, come down to the Harborside Ballroom at the DECC tomorrow night after the polls close, courtesy of Congressman Oberstar!

i got to the woodland community center at 7:25 this morning.

i was voter number 280 and there were probably another hundred people behind me when i left with a steady stream of cars entering the parking lot.

I voted under the watchful and benevolent gaze of the flying spaghetti monster

I got to my polling place at 6:35. I was 5th in line, 2nd to sit down with a ballot, and the 10th ballot counted. I took some extra time making sure all my ovals were neatly filled in.

I got to the the Woodland Community Center at 10:30 and was out by 10:37. I was voter number 883 and there were probably another 20 people voting at the same time. The line to vote was 2 or 3 people. The line to register was 15 or 20 people (always a great sign). Parking lot was 1/3 full with steady in and out traffic.

woodland was slow at 9:30 but steady.

Took a break a 9:45am and biked a block to the church on 22nd &4th. Was back home working by 10:00am.

I sat at Peace Church from 6:45 until 9:00, manning the Kids' Voting setup. Very busy. I counted 35-40 kids. My daughter was a big help, handing out stickers. After that, we went to my normal polling place and I voted my normal straight party-line ticket. Yay!

I recieved a "I voted" sticker at the Billings Park voting place, but instead of handing it to me, the woman pressed it right on my shirt at my sternum. I was surprised and a little turned on at the same time. Personal space!

At 400pm we were 715 and 717 at Lincoln Park SR Center.

Congratulations President-Elect Barack Obama!

I think Franken is going to squeak it out. Only 40% of St. Louis county precincts are reporting, only 59% of Carlton county, 66% of Cook county and only 72% in Hennepin county. All are going heavily for Franken. Thanks to all those Northeastern Minnesotan and Minneapolis poll workers who tabulate carefully and methodically for providing us with a suspense filled evening.
