PDD Page Title????

What is the deal with PerfectDuluthDay.com's homepage title?

Perfect Duluth Day: trust funders and welfare sucking parasites

I've heard of self-loathing, but that seems a little bizarre!

Comments

Let's not get into this.

Left over from a few months (?) back when everyone on PDD got called that by (I think) members of that other Duluth blog. Which blog will remain nameless but is frankly comparable to a poo flinging monkey off it's meds.

I'm a poo flinging monkey, and I am deeply offended. I demand a retraction of that last statement!

I love the DCB. My latest attempt to post there:

[What I submitted]
My DCB T-shirt submissions.

DCB: Free speech for some.
DCB: 90's technology in todays world!
DCB: Where right is right and left is muzzled.

[More t-shirt ideas from a PDDer] By: PBYarr

DCB: Free speech for all.
DCB: State of the art technology in todays world!
DCB: Where right is right and left is just a sickness.

STARFIRE: PBYarr, Thanks for the ideas. You prove that at least one from your side is at least a little open minded.

Oh the irony. I wonder how many other posts get *modded like that. I have been thinking about an Open Source Software (as in free) based msg board to counter the "DCB", with topic-based discussion and moderation that is geared more towards free speech than the owner's agenda...

Let's keep in mind that the banning of yours truy was just recently lifted.

Not sure why I'm defending DCB here, honestly. I've sort of rubbed those kids the wrong way lately.

He he. "truy".

I ask again, is there a trust fund I am not aware of?

See what you've done, Toneman? Don't say I didn't warn you.

I stopped. I had an ascii nude all ready but I didn't do it.

Barrett, I see what you meant! I had no idea by pushing that button, all that stuff would come flying out! Now I know!

I wanted to post the ascii angry monkey, but I wasn't sure if it'd fit the PDD comment space correctly.

Do they still have an ascii portrait booth at the Mighty Thomas Shows (in town this weekend!)? Something tells me they probably stopped doing that in 1986.

Still...

I prefer the number 42 over 64 :) Wow, are we truly geeks or what? I need more tape for my glasses...

Who are the bad guys here really?

I'm curious, because I haven't met anyone in person. You can respond in whatever language you think I might be able to understand.

oh, and tamara, I guess I discriminate a little too (shrugs).

Not only did that last come off a bit weird, but my last bit sounds downright mean after I read it again.

No such intention there. I meant I discriminate and that's not really a cool thing for me to do. Generically aimed, if you will.

I declare a moratorium on binary, hexidecimal, etc. code usage in posts ...

... Unless you're such a geek that you can code such messages in your head. Then, fine.

We can start speaking in rapsta'.

I'm willing to take a shot at something really geeky ... or, umm, maybe not.

That didn't go through (the style did, though). Here's the geeky language link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lojban

Binary code? That is the most juvenile thing I have ever seen. I am just speechless. Binary code? Wow.

I am losing faith on the PDD website. Binary code? Are you kidding me?

Quel groupe de perdants juvéniles ! Vous devez avoir joué des cachots et des dragons quand vous avez été censé être des filles de datation.

Hey I'll take D&D over most anything, but not girls :)

I don't really understand the animosity, Tone, but I wouldn't get super upset.

Anyways, nothing against you, but your french reads almost like english. I don't even know french but could figure it out.

In any case, sticks and stones won't break my (anyone's) bones.

On your side a little, the only thing I don't like about PDD is how they have the submission system set up through someone else. The UI is awkward at best. Everyone has their own opinion, though.

The powers that be must have it out for me. My response of "but not girls" could be misconstrued as sexist, when, in fact, I meant "I like the female species more than the game D&D."

I'll just shut up now and crawl into a corner.

"They have the submission system set up through someone else"

They? Someone else? The powers that be?

"They" is me.
"Someone else" is also me.
"The powers that be" is also me.

If anyone has a technical question or concern, they should just email me. I am here to help.

This entire entry is a waste of keystrokes.

Now you kids go outside and play!

Я предпочитаю сыграть тюрьму и драконы, благодарят вас очень много. (tamara - приносящ его все назад вокруг для того чтобы подтвердить мнение DCB коммунистического государства PDD)

If you don't like binary, throw your computer in the garbage, luddite.

(Ladies that like the Open Gaming Revised (v.3.5) System Reference are even better.)

Don't know that darn east bloc talk neither :), but I think I got the gist of it.

It's hard to tell who is on what side though. There's a division, obviously, but with the last identity mix-up with starfire, who knows where the posters lie? I suppose by their rhetoric.

I wasn't aware this site supported extended character sets. Well, I should have guessed with the french post. Maybe I'm not as geeky as I thought :)

Hey adam, you do realize that your use of byte words is great, but also a severe waste of space (much like my words, probably).

To explain to everyone else, each bit of such a message takes up a byte (8 bits). Each small sentence ends up taking a paragraph. tamara's number message was similar but shorter. Her one before that was clever. The Russian one was pretty good too.

Barret:
I'm not overly complaining. It's just that I'm used to other user interfaces. No offense.

sastali su se dobro, pošteno huitz, ali ne možete pobjedio prevoditelj božice koji zna dovoljno samo biti opasno

None taken, Huitz. I just found the "third party" and "set up through someone else" comment to be confusing.

We use movable type software on the PDD server. You're not really going through a third party when you post. You're just using that software on our server.

The hurdles you have to go through to become a member are there to try and keep this from becoming the wild west.

I'd like to upgrade things as the system we're using is quite dated. But a lack of time, money, and talent are all preventative issues.

tamara, to whom do you refer? And can you actually speak that language :)

In Croatian, it translates: "well met, fair huitz, but you cannot beat the translator goddess who knows just enough to be dangerous."

And no, I am not fluent in Croatian but if I were dropped in the middle of Croatia, I could get my way to the train station, the bathroom, and probably a beer, which is all I would really need to do in Croatia. :)

Hah, I got the "well met" part, and of course my call sign; I just couldn't figure out who "dangerous" applied to.

I'd need a guide to travel in Croatia. I think I'd be truly helpless. I might be able to find the (wrong) bathroom :)
