yep, a mccarthy defender and a beatles hater. what a great guy. let me wipe this tear from my cheek.
danny, this is why everyone hates you. because of shit like this. (well, this and that terrible podcast of yours.)
please go find a board where your horrible, side-of-your-mouth-talking "comedy" and vile, dispicable "heroes" are appreciated. i'm sick of reading your posts. you're just posting here to rile people, and that makes you a troll. find a board that better suits you. maybe just try www.doltishinterloper.com and see if anything comes up.
seriously, danny, you tried popping in here and joining the party. now you're the obnoxious drunk guy who insists on changing the music on the stereo when everybody else is enjoying what's currently playing.

Thanks for telling me why everyone hates me Tony. I appreciate it. I was really wondering about that.

your sense of sarcasm is as finely tuned as your sense of humor.

If Danny is a troll, then Tony, you are the reason he exists. Rule #1 of internet conversation: Do not feed the trolls.
And another thing as long as I'm at it: People, the binary is annoying.
Ignore.

Alright, look. I really wasn't trying to start trouble here with this or "troll" or anything like that. I had heard that WFB had died. That was newsworthy, in my opinion. So, I posted it. My opinion of WFB either way was barely even touched on in the post, yet Tony you make a bunch of assumptions and get all pissy with me. Relax pal.

i couldn't resist. i've been ignoring his nonsense for far too long. i thought he would eventually go away when he figured out that no one on here shares his sensibilities.
but a tribute post to a total prick is going too far.
dude, danny: make like a tree and get outta here. your content is not serving anyone but yourself and your need for attention.
that's it. i fold.

Not that I'm trying to get attention or anything by continuing on this subject, but didn't we just have a on here a couple of days ago that was a tribute to an unfunny SNL bit by an contrived and REALLY unfunny comedianne? And didn't that tribute lead to a t-shirt based on that bit being schleped on the this site?

Thanks for the news. I was not big fan of Buckley and found him about a dry as they come. He was the kind of guy I would punch in the mouth if I had to spend too much time with him. He just always seemed to me like he thought everyone else was a little stupid and only he was the smart one(intellectual perhaps). However, he was a part of that older generation to me and was a part of history. With his death as all those before me I know my turn is closer and closer. BTW was he and Englishman or was he an American? He sounded more British to me. I gots to know!

I found Buckley to be hilarious. And alot of that comes from his odd accent (although alt of it also comes from that stuffiness you mention). He was like a human cartoon character.
He was an American, but his first language was not English...it was Spanish, then French, I think. He didnt learn English until he was like 8 or 9, which is why he had such a kooky afflect to his voice.
Plus...he was a total snob.

Aside from his homophobia, his tobaccaphobia, his racism, his wish for mandatory military conscription, his support for meddling in other country's affairs (Contras), and his blind obience to the executive branch, I liked the guy's writing.
He was one of the few conservatives to lambast the War on (Some) Drugs. In the early days he championed reduction in the size of government.
He once wrote: "I asked myself the other day, ‘Who else, on so many issues, has been so right so much of the time?’ I couldn’t think of anyone."
I believe they call that "Chutzpah".

The central question... is whether the White community in the South is entitled to take such measures as are necessary to prevail, politically and culturally, in areas in which it does not predominate numerically? The sobering answer is Yes.... National Review believes that the South's premises are correct...

To Buckley's credit he advocated legalizing drugs, did not like the current administration, and was against the Iraq War.

you got it hbh. It started with the K. Vonnegut obit, because he used it to refer to himself, and has now come into general usage.
