Big Family Bed...

futon.jpg

We're in need of an extension to our family bed...at present, our family futon is getting a little cramped. Fortunately, I have two futons. Unfortunately, I only have one frame. I have our bed temporarily set up in the big bedroom and suffice to say it's pretty much wall to wall bed...which is good, considering the amount of room that Hazel requires to get a good night's sleep.

If anyone has a fairly generic frame of the tri fold variety that they would be willing to part with for free and/or cheap, I'd gladly take it offa your hands.

Dang, I gave one away a year or 2 ago on freecycle.
You should post a "wanted" note on freecycle.

I have a futon frame, a little bent in a place or two(it's metal)but it wouldn't match the one above - you can have for free, though, if you come and haul it!

It has wood ends and is really nice; the double bed/couch portion of one of those upper single/lower double-futon-couch bunk beds. I'm still using the top part, and I think I want the futon mattress (to use sleeping outside on our upper deck, when the Spring air moves us!) but the frame is yours if you want it.

Hey, Girl, if in.dog doesn't want it i could use one....

Would you want the bentish frame, even without the futon that goes with it?

If so, let me know your email and I'll arrange a time you can pick it up! I live by the Coppertop Church.

i know...i'm bad bad bad...all my replies go directly to my bulk box...i could use the frame if it's a trifold model...the width and height would match the one we have at present...

if iiveey can use it more than we can...i say go for it.

Um, Is the bentish frame still stable? My Dad is visiting and he is kind of a BIG guy. I have a futon, but I can't imagine him sleeping on the floor. Zra, I will defer to you if you want it since I usually just lurk here on PDD.

I don't know how old Hazel is, but if it's a bed a tiny child is going to be sleeping on, I don't really think you need (and may not want) any sort of frame. Just putting the futon mattress on the floor seems adequate for our kids.

[Of course I'm a bad person, and my wife is not entirely convinced of the suitability of this arrangement.]

we've been cosleping with H. in a full futon on frame for coming up on two years, and we like the concept quite well. right now, we're doing the two-full-futon-side-by-side-on-on-the-floor thing. I kinda wanted an extra frame to give us a little height (for comfort reasons...)

there's an aesthetic to it as well.

futons also last much much longer when they're on frames...something about air circulation and whatnot...

So, I will get in line behind Ezra. If he doesn't need it, please let me know.
