yes...another cover
ok. another cover song. i heard this on the Current the other day and it's ranking as one of my top cover songs of all time (that pj harvey/bjork one is also on my list, though blind melon's school house rock cover song is the top).
Comments
my favorite cover, that i've heard relatively recently, is jay bennett's version of the tori amos song "pretty good year". the former wilco member can be heard covering it on "the beloved enemy". (i couldn't find a link on youtube though.)

I like the White Stripes' cover of "Isis," by Bob Dylan, but my favorite Dylan cover would have to be Ministry's version of "Lay Lady Lay." Findable on youtube.

And I thought everyone's favorite was Black Velvet Flag's lounged-up version of Suicidal Tendencies' "Institutionalized". No?.......Just me, I guess.

When I lived in Lincoln, NE, I saw Soul Asylum do My Sharona at a show.
Then I moved to Minneapolis.
I was driving into a gas station in Mpls, and My Sharona came on the radio.
And I thought to myself "Golly, that was nifty when Soul Asylum did this song."
And I got out to pump the gas, humming My Sharona, looked up, and Dave Pirner was on the other side of the pump, filling his car.
So goes my amazing life.
