We noticed the same thing, Donny. I voted around 3 pm, 509 people had voted. My husband told me an hour later that 1500 people had voted. Hunh? I think something is fishy -- unless Charlie Bell has set up a laptop near the parade in West Duluth and is dragging people over to vote. I think this whole Mayoral Madness thing is stupid anyway.

a quick check shows all you have to do is clear your cache and you can vote again, so, get one or two boosters and it is possible to slew the numbers however you want. Of course the DNT could week 99% of this out if they disallowed based on IP address, but for a little web poll they aren't going to go through that trouble let alone even look at the logs of who voted.
• Don't complain about lack of options. You've got to pick a few when you do multiple choice. Those are the breaks.
• This whole thing is wildly inaccurate. Rounding errors, ballot stuffers, dynamic IPs, firewalls. If you're using these numbers to do anything important, you're insane.
? They did? And here I was thinking that some random individuals who support either/or/both had figured out how to make this so called "poll" useless. Didn't see anything here saying that Ness or Bell themselves had anything to do with it. Way to jump to conclusions, it really would be stupid of the candidates themselves to get too involved in something so meaningless like this.
I'm sure neither Mr. Bell nor Mr. Ness have the time to sit and [click], [delete cookies], [click], [delete cookies], [click], [delete cookies], ad infinitum. Unless they really like cookies.
Well since 4:30 the working class Bell voters just got off work, While all your supporters are on welfare or rich liberals and have nothing to do all day but sit on their computers.
Alright wrekt, I apologize. Sometimes it's hard to tell intentions solely from written word. Like Rick there, is he an idiot or just trolling, who knows?
well, what he really seems to be saying is that he can't conceive of Bell voters using their computers for anything other than play. Because of course, those of us who work on our computers are "rich liberals."
if i'm so rich, why do i have to spend all day on my computer?
(i wanted to make a funny and say that republicans only use their computers for porn, but the rich crack just made me wanna cry. you made me cry, Rick, ya happy??)
on the contrary Rick, my blue collar working class liberal ass was hard at work...like I do, week in and week out, the same as every other liberal working stiff I know, earning a living to support my growing family at the time this poll was open...
...so take your ignorant arrogant, elitist, classist, asinine epithet and shove it...

It's interesting to me that at 4:30 I was leading this contest 60-40 with about 1200 votes cast all day.
Now, a half hour later, Charlie is leading the poll 54-46 and there has been 1758 votes cast.
Here's the numbers appx...
4:30 -
Ness 720
Bell 480
5:10
Ness 809
Bell 949

There's always the Slashdot poll disclaimer:
• Don't complain about lack of options. You've got to pick a few when you do multiple choice. Those are the breaks.
• This whole thing is wildly inaccurate. Rounding errors, ballot stuffers, dynamic IPs, firewalls. If you're using these numbers to do anything important, you're insane.
