1/2 a block from my house there is a 8 inch diameter of tree branch that had grown around the power line, last time they trimmed the trees they just cut the branch on either side, so now there is a small log hanging on the line.

I had a pair out front on our lines for over a year. I just thought it looked ghetto but it didn't bother me that much. Until I found out it was a gang symbol letting everyone know that the person in the house near the shoes was going to get whacked. Needless to say those punks were all talk and no action.
