Murder Victim's MySpace

Adam Sheda was shot to death at a house party in the East Hillside on Friday night, having just returned from fighting in Iraq.

This is his MySpace page.

"All my friends better throw me one hell of a party when I get home. My plans when I get back are to drink until my heart stops."

- Adam Sheda

Interesting that Adam, may he rest in peace, used a still of Rutger Hauer from Blade Runner as his picture on MySpace. And more interesting that it's a picture during his famous speech...

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe:
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion;
I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate.
All those moments ... will be lost ... in time ... like tears in rain.
Time to die."

Blade Runner turned 25 this week.

All of his friend and family's "I cant wait for you to get home!" comments posted days beforehand make me sad and sick to my stomach.

Without knowing what were the details of the shooting it is hard to say anything.. But.. What a tragedy. To be off at war for that long and in harms way, only to die a week after returning home...

And on the East-Hillside.

It is the ultimate in tragedy to survive Iraq and die in Duluth a week later from a gun. It really makes you stop and think, and get angry..

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
