On my 40th birthday last month I started a 40 day project on my blog. Every day I put up a quote of some signficance to me. Some are well know, some idiosyncratic. Well, that project is over as of today and I thought I'd post a graphical index to all the quotes.
Enjoy!

Good stuff. I have been on here off and on for 2-3 years, but never realized until now that you were a pastor/minister. Too often those of us not involved in any religion tend to only see the Pat Robertson's, Ralph Reeds', and Ted Haggard's of the religious world. It's nice to see that not all members of the clergy invite their parishioners to worship George W. Bush along with God. I think a lot of us on the left have a tendency to hit the mute button when it comes to any religion because of the spewing emanating from Evangelicals and the Religious Right. So thanks for blowing away some of my preconceived notions.

I am pretty areligious, but one of my best friends in the area is in seminary school and works for a UCC church. My, unasked for, take on it all is religion enhances and reinforces the type of person you are. It doesn't MAKE someone a homophobic flaming a-hole, but if you are bent on being one you can find justification for it in religion. Likewise it doesn't MAKE you a saint and paragon of kindness, justice and all around swell person, but you can find the justification and wisdom be be such within religion.
just my worthless 2 pennies
