Unfortunately, this approach seems to work for them. Anyone have a good explanation for this? It's got to be something other than "most people are idiots," because I know that's not true.

wow my comment really sucks. The links point to sources showing that Fox News tried to downplay the Foley thing by labeling him a democrat. It was noticed on The O'Reilly factor. Please follow my links above if you want to see screenshots.
