Weird Spam

I'm getting a lot of weird spam in my gmail account, and am wondering if anyone knows what it's about. Here's an example of one:

(Subject) Social

(Body)
Content-Type: text/plain;
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit

different

I've received about 30 of these, all from different addresses, with different subjects and a different word in the body. Anyone else getting these or know what the sender's objective is?

I'm guessing that the e-mails have a return receipt that lets the sender know when the e-mail has been opened. That way they know that your address is a valid address, and you're the type of person who opens random e-mails from senders you don't know. Spammers are evil. EVIL!
