Makes Me Wonder?

After reading some posts on this site and other sites. After listening to Rush Limbaugh. After listening to Al Franken, I wonder what is the point of being in a poltical party. What good is it when your decisions are made by some that puts down other to get the best out of their polling numbers or ratings? Is it just me that has views that could go with each side of the aisle. What political party do I belong to? Someone help me!!!!!!!!!!

My beliefs are as follows"

Gun Control- If you want one, get one one. Just don't shoot someone unjustifiably Republican
Abortion- Disagree with it, but who am I to tell you NOT to get one.....It's not my situation Democrat
Iraqi War- Congress approved with the same info that the prez had. Why is it only on his shoulders?

The thing that baffles me is that is positions were reversed in the country right now the Republicans would be criticizing a Democratic President for the war. And don't say the Democratic President would not have went to war because the polls called for it. We are not voting for individuals that have integrity anymore. We are voting for career politicians on both sides. I hate politics........................That's all it is. Please don't base your argument on what John Kerry says. Or for that matter on what George Bush says. Know that the majority of the country voted this government and that until the country as a whole can take their blinders off on each issue and look at the facts based on the issue and not the party we will be better off.

Dammit I am pissed. This heats me up so MUCH..... I'M STARTING A VLOG THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for that!!!!!

LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal and

economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one

that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence.

Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose

government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate

diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

well i'll be a sonofabitch...
i'm a goddam libertarian. you don't like it? fuck you.

and that sums up the positive aspects of libertarianism pretty well. It is not all peaches and cream though. I would encourage you to research the matter a little bit more before declaring yourself so strongly, after taking a quizz put forth by that very political party. Be critical of everything.
Here is but one of many critisims gainst it You can find plenty more. And if after you go though them you still are libertarian, that is fine. Just make informed decisions. For me, libertarians are too free market orientated and too against taxes.

Personally I see no reason to belong to any one party. Why not judge the elected officials indivdually? There are some republicans that are reasonible, and some democrats who are not.

Incidently the line that congress and the white house had equal acess to the pre war intellegence has been pretty hotly debated. I would fault congress to no end for guilbility, but feel that Bush bears the brunt of the blame. It is pretty proven that media was manipulated by the execuative branch prior to the war (look up the Judith Miller story)... ah thats enough

Ahh, far left liberal. Comfort in a 10 question quiz.

holy shit...i'm NOT a goddam libertarian.well fuck Me.

Is it true that Marc Gartman is taking over for Herb Bergson?

Regarding your willingness to accept that congress made decisions about war with Iraq based on the same information the administration had, this works like this: Bush>Mass Media>Us. And it keeps working that way throughout our country until we wind up in the current state of misinformed citizenry. Yes, Dems and Repubs both bear responsibility, but the Bush gang are setting the boundaries of debate, of course. You should seriously consider reading Scott Ritter's new book. Here's a reminder of who he is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Ritter and his new book is Iraq Confidential. Here's the blurb on Amazon: "
Scott Ritter is the straight-talking former marine officer who the CIA wants to silence. After the 1991 Gulf War, Ritter helped lead the UN weapons inspections of Iraq and found himself at the center of a dangerous game between the Iraqi and US regimes.
As Ritter reveals in this explosive book, Washington was only interested in disarmament as a tool for its own agenda. Operating in a fog of espionage and counter-espionage, Ritter and his team were determined to find out the truth about Iraq’s WMD. The CIA were equally determined to stop them. The truth, as we now know, was that Iraq was playing a deadly game of double-bluff, and actually had no WMD. But to have revealed this would have derailed America’s drive for regime change.

Iraq Confidential charts the disillusionment of a staunch patriot who came to realize that his own government sought to undermine effective arms control in the Middle East. Ritter shows us a world of deceit and betrayal in which nothing is as it seems. A host of characters from Mossad, MI6 and the CIA pepper this powerful narrative, which contains revelations that will permanently affect the ongoing debates about Iraq."
I hope this helps in some way.

I don't know about you, but this soma tastes great!

Sir--congress approved with the information given them by the president. The info we now know was wrong. Did the head of CIA lose his job? No. (later he quit...much later).
Then the Bush story was that there was link between Iraq and OBL--none. then we were to bring democracy to the entire region etc etc etc
The guy is the president and the buck stops there. He lied. He bullshitted. Congress often foolish but they approved because he went to war and they had to back him. Stupid. Now he spies on citizens. Anmd says that is ok! He is the worst president this nation has had

The worst Prez this country has ever had? Wow, pretty harsh since you have probably lived through only four of them.....So, Congress doesn't get the exact same briefings that the President gets everyday? I do believe they do....THe president can only make recommendations and not make policy on his own. The House and Senate approved the war because the polls told them too, not because the president did.

Can you explain why the information on the spying came out this week when it has been known by the dems for months. It is because a book is being released and the better the publicity know than latter. Don't think the dems or repubs care about you unless it can get them in a better light for elections.....

No doubt that dems are duplicitous little weenies who have essentially allowed the hard right to have their way with Lady Liberty.

Libertarianism does not adequately protect people from marauding corporations.

The government needs to at least be big enough to keep the companies in check.

Accountability on election day is preferable to government by the free market.

Being a rabid lefty myself, I'm all for voting third party.

I don't care if the dems are out of power for thirty years. If they can't be forced to divest themselves of corporate influence then they're good for nothing.

If its Hillary v Giuliani in 2008, then its third party all the way for me.

Don't support the war?
Then don't support pro-war dems.

Dems won't change until they realize they can't take certain votes for granted. Let 'em learn the hard way.
