Video iPod?
Today at noon Steve Jobs is making his big "One More Thing" announcement in San Francisco. There is much back and forth speculation that he will announce the Video iPod. I for one wouid love it even if it doesn't connect to TV's. You can watch the event by clicking here.
Maybe he will be announcing his bid for President of the Universe.

It's true. They're releasing the video iPod.
I couldn't get the specs, because Apple's server is being bombarded at the moment.

What would make it better, is if I could tranfer my Tivo'd shows to it. But the screen seems to small to watch a good show. You miss all the details of CSI.

After just paying $265 for my new nano, last saturday, and getting the news a new and improved version is out in 3 months, I will never buy a new Apple product. I am thinking of returning it and saying it is broken, or just setting it under a bus

Here it is,the new video-enabled iPod{not the true ipod video, still due out}: it’s the same width and height as the current mode, but thinner. It has a 320 x 240 pixel, 2.5-inch, 260,000 color display, 20 hours of battery life, and supports playback of H.264 and MPEG4 at 30 fps. Has TV out and will come in both 30GB and 60GB versions, with the 30GB version being 31% thinner than the current 20GB iPod and the 60GB version being 12% thinner than the current 20GB iPod. The 30GB will hold up to 75 hours of video and retail for $299. The 60GB version will hold 150 hours of video and sell for $399. Both will ship in one week.

After getting a migraine in the middle of the night that made my body not able to sleep, I went to the Apple site and watched all the vid conferences. Even though I do not own an Apple product to date, I am now converted and will only buy Apple now. They seem to be the only company heading in the direction that I want my TV watching life to go........

I want to know when they're going to release Quicktime 7 for Windows, so that I can watch/create H.264 videos on my PC.
Bitches.

Also, with the new iPod, you need to purchase the dock separatly ($39) which you need if you want to connect to a TV. Then there's the remote control ($29) which would make life a lot easier.

Listen, Bo Ring, if you don't like a post, keep your negative opinions to yourself. Then, make a post that you think is entertaining. This is how PDD works. Well, at least that's the dream.

Looks like various manufacturers will be coming out with similar products by the end of the year or beginning of next. Including the TivoToGo and a way to d/l video onto your Sony PSP.
I, personally, won't be buying any of it until it comes with a 30GB+ flash drive. None of this wacky, expensive mini-hard drive business for me.
